Great Sale Cay

A group of us left Green Turtle and sailed to Powell Cay for the evening.  Next stop on our way back to the USA was Great Sale Cay where we would spend one night and leave the next evening around 7:00 PM.

The next day arrived and a group of us decided to explore Great Sale, there is access to a beach on the western shore.  Upon arriving at the beach we saw many holes dug in the sand and found out there are wild pigs that dig up and eat turtle eggs.

While walking the beach we came upon the ruins of an old US radar station. The beach was great and we found some nice coral washed up on shore.  After spending time wandering the beach it was time to head back to the boats to make any last minute checks and relax before the 21 hour trip to Vero Beach.

Pulled anchor at 7:00 PM and proceeded across the Little Bahama Bank.  Around 8:00 PM we spotted a vapor trail in the sky, which turned out to be a rocket launch from Cape Canaveral.  It was quite a sight and with good visibility we even saw the stage separation.
